This position may be assigned to either our Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) classroom or our Three-Year-Old Preschool classroom based on experience, qualifications, and school needs. We are looking for professionals who are committed to creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment while fostering strong relationships with children, families, and fellow educators. Responsibilities Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with Kiddie Academy curriculum and Florida Early Learning Standards. Create a positive classroom culture that promotes social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Maintain daily communication with families regarding children's progress and classroom activities. Observe, assess, and document children's development. Ensure compliance with all Florida DCF licensing regulations and Kiddie Academy policies. Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment. Collaborate with administration and fellow educators to support school goals and student success. Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications For Three-Year-Old Lead Teacher Candidates:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Florida Child Care Staff Credential (FCCPC, National CDA, or approved equivalent) preferred or willingness to obtain. Completion of Florida DCF 45-Hour Introductory Child Care Training. Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain). Level 2 Background Screening clearance. Previous preschool teaching experience preferred.
For VPK Lead Teacher Candidates:
Must meet Florida VPK Lead Instructor requirements, including an approved VPK credential such as a CDA/FCCPC, Child Development degree, qualifying education degree, or other approved credential. VPK instructors must also complete required emergent literacy and Florida standards training. Completion of Florida DCF training requirements and successful Level 2 Background Screening. Experience teaching in a VPK or preschool classroom preferred. Ideal Candidate Passionate about early childhood education. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Reliable, professional, and team-oriented. Ability to create engaging learning experiences that support kindergarten readiness.
