Job Description

Bay County Learning Academy (BAYCOLA) could be your new home! BACOLA is a new childcare facility located in Panama City, Florida on Cato Rd. BAYCOLA provides care to children ages 0-5 years with the latest technology, safety systems, and research-based curriculum. We are looking for staff members to fill a range of positions with varying levels of experience and credentialing , including Lead Teacher positions in our Toddler and Preschool classrooms. Reporting Relationships:
Reports directly to the director and leadership team members to which they are assigned. Lead daily classroom activities for toddler and preschool groups, ensuring engaging, age-appropriate lessons that support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that incorporate early intervention techniques, literacy education, math skills, and Montessori principles to foster holistic growth. Manage classroom environments effectively by maintaining organization, safety standards, and positive behavior management strategies that promote respectful interactions. Collaborate with families to communicate children's progress, address concerns, and support ongoing development through regular updates and parent meetings. Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to maintain high-quality childcare standards while fostering a team-oriented atmosphere. Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor progress and tailor instruction accordingly. Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, health and safety protocols, and child welfare policies to create a secure learning environment. 1.
One of the following preferred:
a. An associate degree or higher in Child Care Administration or Early Childhood Education. b. A Child Development credential (CDA) or related credential or be enrolled and actively working on one. c. National Administration Credential (NAC) from NICCM or another organization. d. Specific requirements set by minimum standards and/or accreditation -40 Hour DCF Certification. Strong background in early childhood education with experience in toddler care and preschool settings. Expertise in curriculum development across diverse learning areas including literacy, math, physical education, and special education needs. Proven classroom management skills with the ability to motivate children and maintain an organized learning environment. Knowledge of behavior management techniques suitable for young children to promote positive social interactions. Familiarity with teaching methodologies such as child-centered approaches. Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, staff, and community partners effectively. Experience working with children requiring early intervention or special education services is highly desirable. Join us in making a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners! Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs. and perform position as physically required. Must show evidence of sufficient security and judgement to handle crisis situations. Must be in aggreance with the philosophy, mission, and overall goals of the program. Must be able to support the Director and owner/board in all decisions.
