In this role, you will create a safe, nurturing environment where young individuals can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. Your energy and enthusiasm will help foster positive relationships, encourage personal growth, and provide essential guidance during after-school hours or camp activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives while working in a dynamic, supportive setting. Responsibilities Provide attentive supervision and support to children and youth during aftercare programs, camps, or extracurricular activities Implement behavior management strategies to promote respectful and positive interactions among participants Facilitate engaging activities that support childhood development, including arts, sports, theater, and educational games Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, including first aid procedures when necessary Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to address individual needs and create tailored support plans Maintain a clean and organized environment conducive to learning and play Document daily activities, incidents, and progress notes accurately for ongoing program improvement Skills Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a positive environment Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting Ability to implement behavior management techniques effectively First aid certification or willingness to obtain training upon hire Familiarity with special education needs and inclusive practices Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members Enthusiasm for engaging children through sports coaching, theater activities or other creative outlets Ability to handle multiple responsibilities while maintaining a lively and motivating attitude Join us as an Aftercare Counselor and be part of a dedicated team that nurtures the potential of every child.
