Position Summary A teacher assistant supports the lead teacher in caring for discipling 2, 3, and 4-year-old students. This role is hands-on and relational, helping maintain a structured, safe, and nurturing class environment while modeling Christ-like character. The teacher assistant plays a key role in supporting daily classroom operations, ensuring students are cared for, engaged, supervised at all times. Key ResponsibilitiesClassroom Support & Learning Environment Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lessons and classroom activities. Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment. Support transitions throughout the day including learning time, play, meals, and rest. Reinforce classroom structure, routines, and expectations set by the lead teacher. Student Development & Assessment Provide constant supervision of students, especially during transitions and outdoor play. Assist with snack time, lunch, toileting, diapering (for 2-year-olds), and nap time. Support positive behavior through redirection and encouragement. Help ensure safety, hygiene, and well-being of all students. Parent Communication & Support Support the lead teacher in building relationships with families. Assist with communication as directed by the lead teacher. Support confidentiality and integrity in all communication and interactions with families. Team Collaboration & Professional Contribution Work in unity with lead teachers to ensure smooth daily operations. Communicate any concerns regarding student behavior, safety, or needs. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and school events as required. Qualifications A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for discipling young children. Commitment to the mission and vision of The Source Christian Academy and agreement with its statement of faith. Staff and CDA credentials through the Department of Children and Families. CPR and First Aid certified or willing to complete upon hire. Experience working with toddlers and an understanding of early developmental stages and needs.
