The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and engaging learning environment that supports children's academic, emotional, physical, and mental well-being through meaningful and intentional experiences. Key responsibilities
  • Create a safe, warm, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels respected, valued, and supported.
  • Foster children's curiosity, creativity, and love of learning through intentional teaching practices and hands-on experiences.
  • Support each child's growth by observing, assessing, and documenting developmental progress.
  • Promote positive behavior and guide children using respectful and constructive approaches.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with the center's mission and values.
  • Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children.
  • Build strong and positive relationships with families through ongoing communication and collaboration.
  • Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations and health and safety standards set by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Attend and engage in regularly staff meetings and school events.
  • Maintain a professional self-image and project the mission and values of the center at all times. Qualifications
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential (required).
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred).
  • Have completed 40 hours of Department of Children and Families child care training (required).
  • First Aid / CPR certification (required).
  • Minimum one year of experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years (preferred).
  • Knowledge of child development principles and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Strong classroom management, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Competent skills in digital tolls used to document developmental progress and ongoing assessments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and families.
  • Must meet all state and local licensing requirements, including background screening.
Work Schedule Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8 hours shift
Pay:
$16.00 - $17.50 per hour
