Role:
As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering the early development and learning of young children, typically aged 2 to 5 years. Your primary goal is to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and social skills. You will design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote cognitive, emotional, and physical growth, while also supporting individual learning needs. Collaboration with parents and caregivers is essential to ensure consistent support and communication regarding each child's progress. Ultimately, your work will lay the foundation for lifelong learning and positive attitudes toward education.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid state certification or licensure for teaching preschool-aged children, as required by DCF. Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting. Basic knowledge of child development principles and early learning standards. Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities that support early childhood learning standards. Observe and assess children's progress, documenting milestones and identifying areas where additional support may be needed. Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming classroom environment that encourages positive social interactions and respect among children. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on their child's development and address any concerns. Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to plan events, share best practices, and maintain compliance with licensing and safety regulations.
Skills:
The required skills enable you to design and implement effective lesson plans that meet developmental milestones and foster a positive learning environment. Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with children, parents, and colleagues to support each child's growth and address any challenges. Observation and assessment skills help you monitor progress and tailor instruction to individual needs.
