Daycare Assistant Director 3008 Tobacco Road, Hephzibah, GA 30815 From $11 an hour - Part-time From $11 an hour - Part-time Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Daycare Assistant Director to oversee daily operations and support the educational and developmental needs of children in our childcare center. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for early childhood education, and experience working with young children, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and fostering a nurturing environment that promotes growth and learning for all children. Duties Assist in managing daily classroom activities across various age groups, including infant care, toddler care, and preschool programs. Support classroom management strategies to ensure a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities. Coordinate staff schedules, supervise teachers and caregivers, and facilitate ongoing training in early childhood education best practices. Implement and monitor curriculum plans aligned with childhood development standards and state regulations. Ensure adherence to health and safety policies, including first aid procedures and emergency protocols. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones. Support behavior management strategies that promote positive social interactions among children. Maintain accurate documentation related to child attendance, developmental assessments, and incident reports. Foster a collaborative team environment focused on continuous improvement in childcare quality. Qualifications Proven experience working with children in daycare or preschool settings; classroom experience preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-specific caregiving techniques. Experience with special education needs and working with children with disabilities is highly desirable. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in childhood education or special education are a plus. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage staff effectively and foster teamwork. Excellent communication skills for engaging with parents, staff, and community partners. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Background in classroom management, behavior management strategies, and caregiving roles such as nannying or babysitting is advantageous.
