Staff Job Title:
PreK Lead Teacher Summary Join our team as a PreK Lead Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the early educational experience of our little learners! You will design and implement a dynamic curriculum that fosters social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development in a nurturing environment. Utilizing Conscious Discipline, you will guide children's personal care and learning activities, maintain classroom records, and ensure a safe and clean play environment. You will also communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and supervise assistant teachers to create a cohesive and effective classroom team. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Curriculum and Classroom Management Design and implement MultiPrep curriculum activities that promote holistic child development, ensuring alignment with Ivy Kids and state standards. Organize the daily schedule, including outdoor activities, meals, and special events. Employ positive guidance techniques to address social or academic challenges, modeling Conscious Discipline at all times. Maintain accurate records of each child's developmental milestones, attendance, and incidents, ensuring timely completion of ASQs. Classroom Environment Create a welcoming and developmentally appropriate classroom setup in line with Ivy Kids guidelines. Familiarize yourself and your assistant teachers with Georgia Minimum Standards and Ivy Kids' Critical procedures. Prepare for and conduct formal and informal parent conferences, with the support of the Director/Education Director. Communication and Parent Engagement Maintain open lines of communication with parents through Procare updates, daily reports, and classroom bulletin boards. Share photos and videos of classroom activities with parents to celebrate their children's progress. Team Leadership and Staff Development Mentor and supervise assistant teachers, helping them develop necessary skills to support classroom activities and maintain a positive environment. Participate in training new staff and familiarize them with operational procedures. Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and center events, contributing actively to team development. Health and Safety Implement all Critical procedures related to infant care, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Administer CPR/First Aid as needed and maintain a clean, safe classroom environment. Follow sanitation protocols to ensure the health and safety of all children. Qualifications Must meet or exceed state licensing requirements for age, education, and experience, including at least 2 years of experience in early childhood education. A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, an Associate's degree, or a CDA is required. Physical ability to bend, stoop, run, and lift children up to 50 pounds. Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with children and parents. Commitment to continuous professional development with a requirement of at least 24 hours of training each year.
