Caregiver Part-Time:
Monday-Friday, 1:30 PM-4:00 PM Position Summary We are seeking a caring, patient, and reliable individual to provide one-on-one support for a preschool-aged child with Level 1 Autism during afternoon preschool hours. The facilitator will help the child successfully participate in classroom activities, social interactions, transitions, and routines while promoting independence and confidence. Essential Responsibilities Provide consistent one-on-one support throughout the preschool afternoon. Assist the child in participating in classroom activities, centers, playground time, and group experiences. Support social interactions with peers through modeling, prompting, and encouragement. Help the child navigate transitions between activities and maintain engagement in classroom routines. Implement strategies and accommodations recommended by parents, therapists, and school staff. Monitor the child's emotional regulation and assist with coping and self-regulation strategies when needed. Encourage independence while providing appropriate support. Communicate regularly with classroom teachers regarding the child's progress, successes, and challenges. Maintain confidentiality regarding the child and family. Follow all preschool policies, procedures, and safety requirements. Qualifications Experience working with young children required. Experience supporting children with autism, developmental differences, or special needs preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm, patient, and positive in a busy preschool environment. Ability to follow guidance from teachers, therapists, and parents. Must pass all required background checks and meet state childcare requirements. Physical Requirements Ability to actively participate in classroom and outdoor activities. Ability to sit on the floor, bend, kneel, lift up to 25 pounds, and assist with age-appropriate preschool activities. Desired Characteristics Warm, nurturing, and engaging personality.
