EMCC is a cooperative nonprofit school serving children ages 1-6, where families and educators collaborate to create a nurturing, innovative environment for early childhood education. Position Overview The Floater teacher will support the Lead Teacher in creating a warm and engaging classroom environment that fosters independence, curiosity, and social-emotional growth. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education and eager to contribute to a cooperative learning community. This a part time position, hours are 1:00pm - 5:00pm . Responsibilities Support classroom management and create a safe, organized, and inclusive environment. Help prepare and maintain the classroom, ensuring materials are accessible and in good condition. Observe and assist in documenting children's progress and development. Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff members. Contribute to the overall success of the school by participating in events, activities, and cooperative responsibilities. Cover teachers break or planning time. Assist with nap time supervision. Support outdoor play and playground supervision. This Floater position requires you to work with all of EMCC classrooms, you will float around the building helping teachers as needed. Qualifications Experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A collaborative mindset and willingness to support the Lead Teacher and the broader school community. High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or training in early childhood education is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with cooperative or community-based educational settings. Interest in Montessori or similar child-centered educational approaches. Why Join EMCC?
