This position is primarily based in the 3- and 4-year-old classroom and involves supporting daily classroom activities, assisting with lesson planning, and fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment. In addition, this role includes providing floater support as needed, assisting in other classrooms to ensure smooth daily operations and consistent care across the program. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children, a strong understanding of child development, and the flexibility to adapt to different classroom settings. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a positive learning environment while gaining valuable experience in curriculum development, classroom management, and supporting children with diverse learning needs. Duties Support lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans focused on literacy, math, and overall curriculum development. Assist with classroom management and behavior management strategies to foster a safe and engaging learning environment. Provide one-on-one or small group instruction tailored to individual student needs, including children with autism or disabilities. Help with classroom organization, including setting up materials for activities and maintaining cleanliness. Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social-emotional development, early childhood education, and daycare routines. Support children's developmental milestones through interactive play and educational activities. Adapt teaching methods for diverse learners, including those with special needs or behavioral challenges. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and assessment strategies. Maintain open communication with parents regarding children's progress and behavior. Float between classrooms as needed to provide coverage during breaks, planning time, and staff absences. Support overall school operations, including assisting in multiple classrooms, common areas, and transitions throughout the day. Step in where needed to ensure smooth daily operations and maintain ratio compliance. Perform additional duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, private school, or similar settings. Knowledge of childhood development, behavior management, and classroom management techniques. Familiarity with special education practices, working with children with autism or disabilities, and Montessori or preschool curricula is preferred. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members. Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development tailored for early childhood education. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating flexibility as a floater across classrooms. Prior experience working with children with diverse needs is advantageous. Certification in early childhood education or a related field is preferred but not required.
