- Full-time Job Summary The Lead Teacher works with the Children's Center Directors to plan, coordinate and teach activities and supervise children enrolled in programs at the center to meet the physical, emotional, and creative needs of the child, and to assure his/her care and protection.
Job Responsibilities Supports the YWCA Mission and One Imperative. Prepare and carry out age appropriate lesson plans/activities for age group/classroom and review with Child Care Director as required. Provide a variety of learning activities. Review with Child Care Director supply list for lessons-purchase approval needed from the Child Care Director. Provide basic social guides and problem solving skills as required. Provides hands on training for new associates as needed. Document CACFP program paper work as required. Account for daily attendance and review daily, including food counts for his/her age group for children in center. With associate, communicate daily routines of children to parents. Maintain organization, cleanliness (including bathroom, floor and carpet areas) at all times of the day/night of all work areas and center environment. Assist with daily activities, including pre-school, and routine care of children, ages six weeks to twelve years. Assist in preparation and feeding ofmeals and snacks. Participate in snacks and meals. Assist children in toileting, diapering, and nap/rest time. Attend staff meetings and in-service training. Record accurate activities on daily reports. Assist Child Care Director with supervision of childcare associates. Assist in maintaining compliance with all licensing standards. Maintain accurate reports as needed, daily, weekly, or monthly. Assist in receiving and departing of children in a happy and friendly manner, communicate with children and parents daily. Be prepared to handle emergencies and illness. Ability to communicate and work effectively in a team oriented environment. Direct participation of group and individual activities of children. Be able to lift children up to 40 lbs. Be physically able to participate in any children's activities on the floor whenever needed. With Executive Director, keep all program policy. During slow times in the year you may need to assist other programs within the YWCA Agency to maintain your hours. YWCA Children's Center serves children from the ages of six weeks to twelve years. Employee may be required to work with any of the age groups listed above. Hours for this position may differ from day to day. Center hours are 6:00AM
Any additional duties as assigned by Supervisor, Child Care Director or Executive Director.
