Aug 1, 2026 Job Description Preschool Special Education Teacher (Inclusive Preschool) Red Oak Community School District is seeking a highly qualified Preschool Special Education Teacher to join our inclusive early childhood team. This position serves preschool-aged students with diverse learning needs in a collaborative, play-based learning environment focused on ensuring all children have access to high-quality instruction and support.
Qualifications:
Valid Iowa teaching license with Birth-Grade 3 Inclusive Settings (#1001) endorsement preferred, or other appropriate early childhood/special education licensure. Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Knowledge of Iowa special education compliance requirements and experience utilizing Achieve. Experience collecting, documenting, and analyzing student progress using Teaching Strategies GOLD®. Strong understanding of child development, early learning standards, and evidence-based instructional practices. Experience working in an inclusive preschool setting preferred. Ability to collaborate effectively with families, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and general education staff. Strong communication, organization, and data-based decision-making skills.
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and supports to preschool students with disabilities within an inclusive learning environment. Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and services. Utilize assessment data and GOLD® documentation to guide instruction and monitor student growth. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student success. Foster positive relationships with students and families while creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
