Competitive, based on experience About Us Project Youth Daycare is a licensed childcare center dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. We are seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator to support classrooms throughout our center and help provide exceptional care and learning experiences for children from infancy through preschool. Position Summary The Early Childhood Educator works collaboratively with Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers to create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment for young children. This role provides support across multiple classrooms, assists with educational activities, and helps ensure children receive high-quality care while reaching important developmental milestones. Responsibilities:
Child Development & Learning Support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development through age-appropriate interactions and activities. Reinforce learning concepts through one-on-one and small-group activities. Assist with classroom lessons, learning centers, and enrichment opportunities. Encourage positive behavior, independence, and social-emotional growth. Child Care & Supervision Provide attentive care for children throughout the day, including feeding, dressing, toileting, and daily routines. Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, naptime, and special events. Ensure children's safety and well-being through active supervision and engagement. Provide basic first aid and personal care when needed. Classroom & Team Support Assist Lead Teachers with preparing learning materials, activities, and classroom environments. Support smooth classroom transitions and daily routines. Work in a variety of classrooms and age groups as needed. Collaborate with coworkers to provide a consistent, positive experience for children and families. Documentation & Communication Record daily observations, activities, and meals in the Procare app. Communicate effectively with team members and families when appropriate. Follow all daycare policies, procedures, and state licensing requirements. Facility Care Clean and sanitize toys, furniture, and classroom equipment. Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming learning environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Ability to pass a criminal background check. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain and maintain certification). Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work effectively with children of varying ages. Dependable, flexible, and professional. Preferred Previous childcare, preschool, daycare, or early childhood education experience. CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or coursework in Early Childhood Education. Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices. Experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. Passion for helping children learn, grow, and succeed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to actively supervise children indoors and outdoors. Ability to work in an environment where exposure to common childhood illnesses may occur.
