Job Description
Child Care Teacher Position Summary Provides a safe, stimulating environment for young children. Creates and implements activities and lesson plans that simultaneously engage and educate children. Responsibilities
- Incorporates child development using a child's natural inclination to play
- Conducts individual and group activities to encourage learning and develop social interaction skills
- Provides diverse basic care needs, including preparing and supplying proper nutrition, performing cleaning duties and dealing with behavioral issues
- Communicate with parents to discuss a child's educational development
- Maintains appropriate records of attendance and activities
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 6 months' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified preferred
- CPR/AED/First Aid for the Adult, Child and Infant required
- State background check including fingerprinting required
- Active participant in the Idaho Stars Rise program upon hire and continuing education required Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job
- Frequent kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling climbing and twisting
