On-Call Substitute Teacher Driggs, ID 83422 $22.50 - $24.50 an hour - Part-time $22.50 - $24.50 an hour - Part-time Job Overview We are seeking dedicated and adaptable On-Call Substitute Teachers to join our team at Sweet Spirits Preschool & Child Care in Driggs, Idaho . In this role, you will step into the classroom to support children and staff when regular teachers are absent. Your primary responsibility will be to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment while following the daily routines and learning activities. You will play a vital role in keeping classrooms running smoothly, fostering positive relationships, and ensuring that children continue to learn, play, and thrive. Responsibilities Follow daily routines and age-appropriate lesson plans left by classroom teachers. Provide a warm, caring, and structured environment for children ages infant, toddler, and Preschool. Manage classroom behavior with positive guidance strategies. Engage children in learning activities, play, songs, stories, and outdoor time. Support children with diverse needs, including those who may require additional assistance. Communicate positively with staff and families to ensure smooth transitions and consistency. Supervise children directly during meals, rest, and playtimes. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment. Skills & Qualifications Previous experience working with children (infant through Preschool) preferred. Knowledge of child development and early learning best practices. Strong classroom management skills, especially in group settings. Patience, flexibility, and creativity in engaging children. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Ability to meet Idaho childcare licensing requirements, including a background check. Preferred Experience Experience working in early childhood settings or with children with special needs. Familiarity with play-based learning, literacy activities, and/or dual immersion (English/Spanish). Montessori or Frog Street curriculum knowledge is a plus. Schedule & Pay On-call, ongoing substitute position with flexible scheduling. Hours may vary between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday . Competitive hourly wage, based on experience.
