Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and flexible Afternoon Floater/Support Staff member to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will serve as a versatile presence within our educational or childcare environment, providing essential support across various activities and ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing atmosphere for children and students. Your energetic approach and proactive attitude will help maintain smooth daily operations, foster positive interactions, and adapt to the evolving needs of our program. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to early childhood education, childcare, or youth development in a lively setting. Responsibilities Support classroom management by assisting teachers or caregivers with daily routines, transitions, and behavior management strategies Engage with children or students through tutoring, recreational activities, arts and crafts, or sports coaching to promote development and enjoyment Ensure safety by monitoring children during indoor and outdoor activities, adhering to all safety protocols including first aid procedures when necessary Assist with setup and cleanup of activities, materials, and spaces to maintain an organized environment Provide support during special events or outings such as camp activities, theater performances, or field trips Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere Support the implementation of individualized plans for children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance in early childhood education or behavioral development Qualifications Prior experience working with children or in childcare settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting is highly preferred Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Certifications in first aid and CPR are strongly recommended; willingness to obtain if not already certified Familiarity with special education principles, childhood development stages, and early childhood education practices Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds Ability to remain energetic, adaptable, and positive throughout the shift Experience in sports coaching, theater arts, Christian counseling or working with students is a plus but not required Join us as an Afternoon Floater/Support Staff member and be part of a passionate team dedicated to enriching young lives through engaging activities and compassionate support.
