Job Description

Job Related Duties & Responsibilities:
Before school shift : 5:45 a.m. - 8:15 a.m.
After school shift:
Dismissal - 6:15 p.m (or until last child is picked up). Reporting to the Program Coordinator and Director, maintain a safe and healthy environment and provide care and supervision for children enrolled in the Beyond the Bell child care program. Help create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for children before and after school. Build positive relationships with students and encourage their social, emotional, and academic growth. Supervise and engage with children during activities, free play, snack time, and transitions. Assist with planning and leading age-appropriate games, crafts, activities, and enrichment opportunities. Support children in following program expectations and use positive behavior management strategies. Maintain active supervision and always know where the children in your assigned group are located. Follow daily schedules, routines, and safety procedures to ensure student well-being. Work collaboratively with the Program Coordinator and other staff members to provide a high-quality program. Communicate professionally with students, families, supervisors, and coworkers. Participate in required trainings and professional development opportunities. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years of age and eligible for employment under applicable state and federal laws. High school student, high school graduate, or equivalent preferred. Experience working with children through babysitting, volunteering, camps, tutoring, coaching, childcare, or related activities is preferred but not required. Ability to interact positively with children and serve as a positive role model. Demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and professionalism. Ability to work collaboratively with program staff and follow directions from supervisors. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to participate in required training and professional development. Ability to supervise and actively engage with children in both indoor and outdoor settings. It is possible that the filling of positions and/or transfers may create vacancies in other positions.
