Part-time Job Related Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Program Coordinator and Director, maintain a safe and healthy environment and provide care and supervision for children enrolled in the Beyond the Bell child care program. Help create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for children before and after school. Build positive relationships with students and encourage their social, emotional, and academic growth. Supervise and engage with children during activities, free play, snack time, and transitions. Assist with planning and leading age-appropriate games, crafts, activities, and enrichment opportunities. Support children in following program expectations and use positive behavior management strategies. Maintain active supervision and always know where the children in your assigned group are located. Follow daily schedules, routines, and safety procedures to ensure student well-being. Work collaboratively with the Program Coordinator and other staff members to provide a high-quality program. Communicate professionally with students, families, supervisors, and coworkers. Participate in required trainings and professional development opportunities. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree, college coursework in education, child development, recreation, social work, or a related field preferred. Experience working with school-age children in a childcare, educational, recreational, camp, or youth program setting preferred. Ability to plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities that support children's social, emotional, and academic development. Ability to maintain a safe, positive, and engaging environment for children. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to provide direction to childcare assistants and volunteers. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children, families, and staff. Ability to work independently, use sound judgment, and respond appropriately to a variety of situations. Willingness to participate in required training and professional development. CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification as required.
