This position will report to the Associate Pastor for Kids and Youth and work alongside 2-3 other hourly staff members on Sunday mornings as needed; attend quarterly nursery staff meetings on Sundays; follow and implement early childhood curriculum; set-up and maintain a well-organized and safe classroom environment; promote and develop positive relationships with children. Qualifications Prior classroom experience working with young children in preschool or early childhood settings is highly preferred. Must be at least 16 years of age Able to stand for long periods, frequently walk, sit on the floor and play with children, and lift a 40lb child in an emergency Must have a flexible schedule and able to fill-in on Sunday mornings for both long-term absences (one month) and sometimes day-of calls Strong communication, relational, and leadership skills, as well as obtains the mental, emotional, & spiritual health and maturity to foster children's spiritual development Able to maintain and enforce safety and security protocols. Affirms LaSalle Street Church's identity and commitments to expansive faith rooted in following Jesus, while valuing diversity of belief/expression, welcoming healing, questions, doubt as part the journey of faith, and investing in justice and embodying outreach and service.
