Job Description

Double J Riding Club Are you a dynamic, energetic individual who thrives in a hands-on, outdoor learning environment surrounded by animals? Do you love working with young children and inspiring curiosity through nature-based experiences? Come join our team! We are seeking a Nature Preschool Instructor to help lead and support the daily operations of our early childhood farm school programs. During the school year, this includes half-day classes and camps for children ages 2-5 years old . In the summer months, this role expands to include leading our Half-Day Farm Camp for children ages 3-7 years old , creating engaging, safe, and memorable farm experiences for our youngest campers. Ideal candidates are 21 years or older, dependable, enthusiastic, and confident in managing young children in an outdoor setting. You must be comfortable around animals and willing to learn about their care and handling. Most importantly, you should have a genuine love for working with children and supporting their growth through play-based, experiential learning. No horse knowledge necessary. About Double J Riding Club Founded in 1999, Double J Riding Club has been helping children learn and grow in a safe, stimulating farm environment for over two decades. Our mission is to foster a love and respect for animals and nature through hands-on experiences. Our 6-acre farm is home to over 25 species and 200+ animals, along with gardens, barnyards, natural exploration areas, and a farmhouse classroom. From early childhood classes and field trips to half- and full-day camps, hands-on learning is at the heart of everything we do. Whether planting vegetables, caring for animals, observing insects, or creating nature-inspired art, our programs promote sensory development, creativity, and meaningful outdoor exploration. We believe that when children learn in nature, they develop deeper curiosity, confidence, and lifelong respect for the world around them.

www.doublejridingclub.com Duties The Nature Preschool Instructor is responsible for teaching and facilitating farm-based early childhood programs and camps.
School Year Responsibilities:
Lead engaging, age-appropriate programs for children ages 2-5 Serve as a positive role model with high integrity and enthusiasm Create and implement hands-on nature-based activities (sensory play, nature walks, animal care, gardening, crafts, story time, etc.) Prepare lesson materials and submit supply requests Adapt instruction to support diverse learning needs Support daily routines including transitions, snack time, free play, and handwashing
Summer Responsibilities:
Lead and manage Half-Day Farm Camp for children ages 3-7 Plan and implement themed camp days filled with nature exploration, animal interaction, creative play, and hands-on learning Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging camp environment Communicate effectively with families regarding camper experiences and needs Qualifications One year of college or two years of experience in early childhood or nature-based education preferred Coursework or experience in early childhood education, environmental studies, recreation, biology, or related fields is a plus Experience working with young children in outdoor or informal educational settings preferred Must be able to lift 30 lbs and perform physical activities including kneeling, bending, carrying, walking, and prolonged standing Comfortable working around and handling a variety of animals

$17-20 per hour
