Job Description

If you're the type of teacher who gets excited about messy art projects, dramatic play, outdoor adventures, singing, dancing, science experiments, and watching children discover the world around them, then we'd love to meet you! The Gray Academy is looking for an energetic, dependable, and passionate Lead Pre-K Teacher to join our growing team. We believe children learn best through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships—and we're looking for someone who shares that philosophy. What You'll Do Create and implement your own engaging, age-appropriate preschool curriculum. Plan exciting daily lesson plans that encourage learning through play. Foster a classroom filled with creativity, kindness, and curiosity. Prepare children for kindergarten through hands-on learning experiences. Observe and document each child's developmental progress. Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom. Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow teachers. Communicate with parents regarding classroom activities and student progress. Ensure compliance with DCFS licensing standards.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
Loves working with preschool-aged children. Is energetic, positive, patient, and dependable. Has strong classroom management skills. Is knowledgeable in preschool lesson planning and child development. Enjoys thinking outside the box and creating fun learning experiences. Is attentive to children's individual needs and learning styles. Works well as part of a supportive team. Has excellent communication and organizational skills. Qualifications CDA (Child Development Associate) Credential or Early Childhood Education Certificate or Degree (required). Previous preschool teaching experience preferred. CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain). Must successfully pass all background check requirements.
