In this role, you will create a vibrant, safe, and engaging classroom environment that promotes early childhood development through innovative teaching strategies and personalized care. Must meet DCFS requirements to work in a licensed child care facility. Responsibilities Implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles across various subjects including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills. Create a welcoming classroom atmosphere that supports classroom management and encourages positive behavior management strategies. Engage actively with children to support their individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services. Facilitate activities that promote childhood development milestones, including toddler care and preschool experiences. Use effective communication skills to collaborate with parents, guardians, and team members to ensure child welfare and progress. Monitor student progress through assessments and standardized testing to tailor instruction effectively. Maintain detailed records of classroom activities, student behavior, lesson plans, and developmental milestones. Requirements Proven experience working with children in a classroom or childcare setting, including preschool experience or daycare roles. Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques. Experience supporting children with special needs or in early intervention programs is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues. Ability to implement behavior management strategies that foster a positive learning environment. Knowledge of childhood development stages and best practices in literacy education and math instruction. Demonstrated commitment to child welfare and safety standards within childcare environments.
