Sunday 9:00-9:45am — Pre. 3 Jazz/HipHop/Tumbling (ages 4-5) 9:50-10:20am — Pre. 1/2 Jazz/HipHop/Tumbling (ages 2-4) 10:25-11:20am — Beginning 1/2/3 Acro (ages 6-9) 11:30am-12:15pm — Pre. 4 Jazz/HipHop/Tumbling (ages 5-6) 12:25-1:20pm — Beginning 1/2/3 Tap (ages 6-9) --- This position is perfect for a spirited dance instructor who enjoys delivering high-energy combination-style dance classes to students ages 2 through 9 years old in a warm, patient, and developmentally appropriate fashion.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE
Part-time (1 day per week) beginning immediately
COMPENSATION
Starting pay for teaching hours is negotiated based on experience. Attendance at meetings, dress rehearsals, recitals, or any other studio-scheduled time outside of teaching class is paid at a non-teaching rate of $15.40 an hour. Private lessons are paid at $42 an hour.

no employed direct reports but early childhood dance instructors work with youth volunteer class assistants. (Class Assistants are not employees).
EMPLOYMENT SUMMARY
A typical day for this position begins in the morning with the first class of the day, pending the class schedule. If desired, private lesson teaching slots (ages 6+) may be made available before or after classes pending instructor and studio availability. Instructors may park in the private TranscenDance Studios lot directly behind the studio, and use their key fob to securely access the building through the rear lobby doors. A private office / staff lounge is available for instructors to store their personal items or relax between classes. Instructors wear studio dress code, which includes a black TranscenDance Studios staff shirt, black bottoms, dance shoes appropriate for the styles being taught, and hair pulled back away from the face. This position may also choose to wear a black leotard, tights, and skirt.
SHIFT SUMMARY
1 day per week, beginning August 23, 2026. The year is broken into two sessions Fall/Spring (running late August through early June) and Summer (typically running mid-June through mid-August). The Fall/Spring session features a recital in May or June. There are no performances scheduled for recreational classes over the Summer Session. Private lessons are generally booked long-term and are dependent on studio and instructor availability as well as student demand. They are always booked in slots nearest to weekly group classes first to avoid holes in the instructor's schedule. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Meet a 90% attendance rate per quarter Meet a 100% on-time arrival rate per quarter Wear dress code (staff shirt and black bottoms) Attend the three scheduled staff training meetings each year (paid) Complete Shift Logs correctly and on time
CLASS RESPONSIBILITIES
Begin and end class on time Take attendance Provide class-level recommendations for all students by due date Follow teaching syllabus (if provided)
RECITAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Meet recital and dress rehearsal availability requirements Part-time employees must be available for at least 50% of all recital and dress rehearsal dates. Dates to be provided by January 15. We are happy to discuss any concerns about pre-existing conflicts. Shared choreography turned in for review and distribution to other instructors by due date Costume selection by due date All title, music, artist info provided by due date Pre & Beginning shared choreo turned in for review by due date Music selection and editing by due date Cyc projection selection by due date (if requested) Recital choreography fully taught by due date Class choreography practice videos provided by due date Opening number fully taught by due date Recital picture pose for classes Pre/Beginning Level Recital Layout completed
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 2 years experience teaching early childhood dance classes (ages 2 - 9 years) in the styles of jazz, hip hop, acro/tumbling, and tap. Applicants must submit to and pass a background check for working with children. High school diploma or equivalent required; some college a plus Reliable mode of transportation enabling dependable timeliness required
