Mark's Child Care and Preschool in Washington is seeking a Full Time DCFS qualified teacher to join our team. Qualifications for Early Childhood Lead Teachers
  • Must be at least 19 years old
  • Must meet the minimum education requirements listed below Must have 60 semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of credit from an accredited college or university with 6 hours (or 9 quarter hours) in courses related directly to child care and/or child development OR 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of credit from an accredited college or university with 6 hours (or 9 quarter hours) in courses related directly to child care and/or child development AND 1 year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center OR Completion of credentialing programs approved by DCFS Top candidates will have a strong desire to help children develop to their fullest potential, fostering the growth and development of the whole child•the physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual.
Skills and Abilities:
Early Child Development knowledge and experience. Good communication, problem solving, and priority setting skills as well as an overall positive and professional attitude/disposition. Ability to make decisions on behalf of children and protect their well-being. Must be able to manage confidential information All employees, regardless of position, serve as role models for children . Therefore, each employee must at all times be emotionally stable and able to function effectively with children and adults.
Requirements of Work:
Must meet minimal education, health, and experience requirements as set forth by the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services. Must meet minimum Health Department Food Service Requirements. Must have or be willing to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid. Must be willing to complete 15 hours of DCFS approved continuing education trainings each year.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Bending and twisting as necessary to properly care for children Often required to stand and sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, or crawl Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Frequent exposure to cleaning solutions Exposure to outdoor elements as weather permits.
