YMCA MISSION

TEACHERS
independently manage their classroom, supervise additional support staff in their classroom, execute YMCA early learning curriculum, and establish positive relationships with children and their families. Our teachers work as a part of a larger team at each YMCA center to develop the best program for the community. This is the perfect role for those who want to take the next step in their early learning career, for former teachers looking to utilize their skills in a different environment, or professionals in early learning looking for an environment in which they can grow. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age to apply.

Minimum 2 years of experience in early childhood education of completed requirements for the CDA Certification with on year experience in early childhood education Knowledge of children ages 1-6 and an understanding of their needs and development Knowledge in early learning curriculum, specifically age-appropriate crafts, music, literature, and group activities Experience in supervising children, staff, and handling conflict situations with parents and staff Capable of establishing and maintaining positive relationships Maintain confidentiality regarding personal information on children, family and YMCA staff
