Childcare Assistant

Our Child Care Assistants introduce babies and toddlers to basic concepts. You will often help pre-school aged children prepare for kindergarten. Childcare Assistants use play and other instructional techniques to help children's development, like storytelling and rhyming games to teach language and vocabulary. They may help improve children's social skills by having them work together or teach math by having children count when building with blocks. Child Care Assistants may involve the children in creative activities such as art, dance children prepare for kindergarten. Childcare Assistants use play and other instructional techniques and music. Responsibilities Assist the Child Care Teacher as needed. Supervise and monitor safety of the children in your care. Prepare meals and organize mealtimes and snacks for children Change diapers of infants and toddlers Attempt to keep children neat and clean Organize activities geared towards learning Observe children's interactions and promote the spirit of concord Identify emotional, developmental and behavioral problems and bring to the attention of the parent. Collaborate and communicate with parents and colleagues Maintaining cleanliness of the facility Complete assigned tasks as given Be accountable for one's own actions. Requirements Proven experience as a child care assistant preferred, but not required High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to pass an extensive background check Patience, flexibility and love for children Strong communication and time management skills Certificate in first aid and CPR preferred
