Job Description

The Pre-K Instructor is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool-aged children. The instructor plans and implements engaging lessons that support the academic, social, emotional, physical, and behavioral growth of each child while preparing students for kindergarten readiness. Early childhood educators play a key role in supporting young children's development through age-appropriate instruction and positive classroom environments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with Indiana Early Learning Standards. Create a positive, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment that supports student growth and learning. Foster students' social, emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development. Utilize play-based and hands-on learning experiences to promote student engagement and school readiness. Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of developmental and academic growth. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities. Implement classroom management strategies that promote positive behavior and student success. Ensure student safety and supervise students throughout the school day, including arrival, dismissal, recess, meals, and transitions. Maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school improvement initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
