Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant educational community as a Montessori Guide/Teacher! There are 3 different teacher positions open in separate rooms: Infant, Todder, and PreK. In this dynamic role, you will inspire young learners by creating nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environments that foster independence, curiosity, and a love of learning. As a dedicated professional, you will implement Montessori principles and curriculum to support each child's unique growth trajectory while collaborating with families and colleagues to ensure an enriching educational experience. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact during the formative early childhood years. Responsibilities Design and execute Montessori-inspired lesson plans tailored to infants, toddlers, or preschoolers, emphasizing hands-on learning and child-led exploration Develop and adapt curriculum materials that promote literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional development aligned with Montessori standards Create a warm, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages independence, respect, and positive behavior management Observe and assess individual child progress regularly to inform instruction and communicate developmental milestones to families Support early intervention strategies and collaborate with our specialists to meet diverse learner needs Manage classroom routines effectively while maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization Engage in ongoing professional development related to early childhood development, classroom management, and Montessori pedagogy Skills Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles or Montessori methodology Experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management within a childcare or preschool setting Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, and specialists Ability to implement behavior management techniques that promote positive social interactions Passion for working with children, fostering their growth through engaging activities in literacy education, math, physical education, and overall childhood development
Qualifications:
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One of the following qualifications: ○
Option A:
Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related academic discipline from a regionally accredited college or university. ○
Option B:
Technical certificate or diploma in Early Childhood Education. ○
Option C:
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. ○
Option D:
Three semester hours of academic study or equivalent training in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related discipline from a regionally accredited college or university, and at least three months of experience in early childhood education providing direct care and supervision to children of the same age range they will be serving. ○
Option E:
Six months of experience in early childhood education providing direct care and supervision to children of the same age range they will be serving.
  • Each individual at least 16 years of age who is living, working, or regularly volunteering in the facility shall have a record of a negative tuberculosis test or x ray obtained not more than two years before the date of employment or initial application for a license or not later than 30 days after the date of employment or initial application.
Certifications:
○ Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). ○ State of Kansas Background Check and fingerprints (or willingness to obtain).
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds (e.g., lifting classroom materials, assisting children with activities).
  • Ability to spend long periods on your feet and engage in active play or movement with children.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, and squat to interact with children at their level.
