Substitute Teacher — Early Childhood (Infants to Pre-K) Bright Skies Childcare - 3.5 Topeka, KS Job Details Part-time $16 - $19 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications CPR Certification First aid First Aid Certification Classroom experience Full Job Description Job Summary We're looking for warm, patient, and dependable substitute teachers to step into early childhood classrooms — supporting infants, toddlers, and preschool children when their regular teachers are out. If you light up around little ones and want flexible work that actually matters, this is for you. Responsibilities Implement lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher, ensuring continuity in curriculum delivery. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and social-emotional well-being. Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions with patience and consistency to support optimal learning experiences. Engage children through age-appropriate activities that develop literacy, math skills, fine motor abilities, and social skills. Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and caregivers to support each child's individual needs. Adapt instructional strategies to accommodate children with diverse learning styles or special needs, including those with autism or in preschool settings. Maintain a safe classroom environment by adhering to health and safety policies and supervising children at all times.

Qualifications Prior experience working with young children in early childhood education settings such as preschools or childcare centers is highly preferred. Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies. Familiarity with childhood development principles, literacy education, math instruction Lead circle time, songs, story time, and play-based learning (preschool rooms) Experience working with children with special needs or autism is a plus. Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and follow educational guidelines accurately. Valid background check clearance as required for working with minors.
J Pay:
$16.00 - $19.00 per hour
