As a teacher at Ursuline, you demonstrate your abilities to value the uniqueness of each student, nurture the whole person, develop leaders of confidence and compassion, and prepare Ursuline students for life in a global society. Role and Responsibilities Model the Ursuline values of service, courtesy, loyalty and courage by attitude and action. Integrate the Ursuline Mission and Core Values into all activities. Model the Ursuline mission, vision, and values in all communications with students, families, and staff. Contribute to the mission and standards of the school by actively educating in a way that fosters and promotes the Academy's unique culture and programmatic offerings. The Infant/Toddler Teaching Assistant should possess high energy and the ability to handle the demands of babies and toddlers with different personalities and needs. Display a gentle and nurturing personality, and the patience to assist each infant or child to mature cognitively. Displaying a patient and calm personality coupled with a loving approach to every child. Assist Lead Teacher in developing the infants' and children's social skills as they interact with each other. Maintain frequent communication on student progress with student families. Schedule and attend parent meetings and conferences. Guiding babies and toddlers through education/development programs. Thinking on their feet and responding to each child's needs efficiently. Contributing positively to the behavior and social interaction of the children. Building secure relationships with the children. Working closely with the principal, Director, and lead teacher to ensure that guidelines are adhered to. Keeping a diary/daily report of the day's events for parent perusal. Ensuring close communication with parents throughout the day should the need arise. Reporting accidents, illness, and unusual behavior of children to the Director of Early Childhood, and parents. Ensure all students with individual learning needs have high quality modifications in place to meet the students' needs and are on track to meet their goals. Sustain and monitor a safe, orderly, disciplined school environment with high academic and behavioral standards. Attend scheduled faculty meetings after school, as well as grade level and department meetings. Attend and participate in the school's professional development program as planned and scheduled. Stay updated on trends and best practices in area of educational expertise and share ideas with faculty team, administrative team, Director, and Academy President.
