Position Summary
The Kindergarten/PK ESL Teacher will provide high-quality, standards-based instruction and language development support to multilingual learners while working collaboratively as part of a highly integrated early childhood team. The successful candidate will work closely with ESL, Kindergarten, and PreK staff to analyze student data, plan responsive instruction, and ensure that all students have equitable access to rigorous learning opportunities. This position requires a collaborative, flexible, student-centered educator who is committed to supporting school culture, instructional excellence, and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Kindergarten ESL teacher and Early Childhood Team to coordinate instruction, intervention, assessment, and student supports.
- Participate in regular data meetings with Kindergarten, PreK, intervention, ML, SPED, and administrative staff to analyze student performance and determine instructional next steps.
- Utilize multiple sources of student data, including WIDA, DIBELS, classroom assessments, and progress-monitoring data, to inform instruction and intervention decisions.
- Teach, reinforce, and remediate academic content and language skills to ensure student growth and achievement.
- Provide instruction to multilingual learners through whole-group, small-group, push-in, and pull-out instructional models as appropriate.
- Design and implement lessons aligned to the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, WIDA Standards, and district curriculum expectations.
- Develop and implement instructional supports and scaffolds that increase access to grade-level content for multilingual learners.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure language development is integrated into daily instruction.
- Participate in MTSS, PLC, Vertical Planning, Attendance, and Student Support Team meetings.
- Evaluate student progress and develop measurable instructional goals based on student needs.
- Utilize assessment data to continuously adjust instruction and improve student outcomes.
- Support the implementation of culturally and linguistically sustaining instructional practices.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with students, families, staff, and community stakeholders.
- Participate in family engagement activities and support family-school partnerships.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a positive, inclusive, and welcoming school culture.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support school operations, including classroom coverage, arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and other duties as assigned.
- Participate actively in district and school-based professional development.
- Serve in leadership capacities at the school and district level, including participation in committees, leadership teams, and district initiatives.
- Turnkey professional learning and district initiatives to colleagues and contribute to building staff capacity.
- Support schoolwide initiatives aligned to the School Improvement Plan and District Strategic Plan.
- Maintain compliance with all district, state, and federal regulations and expectations.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by school leadership.

- Strong understanding of second language acquisition, language development, and effective instructional practices for multilingual learners.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze student data and use findings to inform instruction and intervention planning.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, specialists, interventionists, administrators, and support staff.
- Commitment to maintaining a positive, student-centered approach in all interactions and decision-making.
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team focused on continuous improvement and student success.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to lead professional learning and share best practices with colleagues.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience teaching multilingual learners in early childhood and/or elementary settings preferred.
- Experience working collaboratively with Kindergarten and PreK educators preferred.
- Experience participating in data meetings, MTSS processes, and collaborative planning structures.
- Experience utilizing WIDA, DIBELS, and other assessment data to inform instructional decisions preferred.
- Demonstrated success implementing standards-based instruction aligned to the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and WIDA Standards.
- Experience serving in school or district leadership roles, committees, or professional learning initiatives preferred.
- Ability to present information and facilitate professional learning for colleagues.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Valid Massachusetts ESL Teacher License required or eligibility for licensure.
- SEI Endorsement required.

Pay Range
- $61,788 - $94,614
