Statement of Duties:
The Veteran's Early Learning Center is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Preschool Teacher to lead a 3-year-old integrated preschool classroom serving students with and without disabilities. The position includes both morning and afternoon preschool sessions and requires close collaboration with a classroom paraprofessional and related service providers to support the diverse needs of all learners. The successful candidate will create a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that promotes social-emotional growth, language development, and early academic skills. Instruction is delivered through a combination of evidence-based early literacy programs, including Fundations, Heggerty, and the World of Wonders (W.O.W.) curriculum. The ideal candidate values play-based and inquiry-centered learning as the foundation of early childhood education. Through purposeful centers, hands-on exploration, and child-led discovery, the teacher will foster curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, and meaningful learning experiences aligned with developmental and curriculum expectations.
  • Provides direct services for children in integrated classroom.
  • Develops modifications to assist students in the regular classrooms.
  • Participates as a member of the evaluation team when appropriate.
  • Evaluates children who have been referred, developing appropriate reports and IEP's as required.
  • Trains classroom paraprofessionals as necessary.
  • Coordinate and arrange team meeting process if requested.
  • Works cooperatively with other personnel and parents.
  • Performs other duties assigned by the District Principal or the Executive Director of Pupil Personnel/Special Education Administrator, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Saugus School Committee.
