Open Center for Children is seeking a dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our vibrant learning community. For more than 50 years, Open Center for Children has provided high-quality, child-centered early education in Somerville. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, we view children as capable, competent learners and believe that strong relationships are the foundation of meaningful learning. What You'll Do As a teacher at Open Center, you will: Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom community Support children's social-emotional growth, independence, and problem-solving skills Develop engaging curriculum based on children's interests, questions, and emerging ideas, supported by a high-quality curriculum framework Observe, document, and reflect on children's learning to inform planning Collaborate closely with teaching partners, families, and administration Maintain a safe, organized, and responsive learning environment Participate in professional development and contribute to our culture of continuous learning What We're Looking For We seek educators who: Hold (or are eligible for) MA EEC Teacher certification Have experience working with preschool-aged children Value play-based, relationship-centered learning Enjoy collaborating with colleagues and families Are reflective, curious, and eager to grow professionally Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills Experience with Reggio Emilia-inspired, emergent, project-based, or inquiry-driven curriculum is a plus, but not required.
Compensation & Benefits Hourly Rate:
