School Age Teacher

BHN is currently seeking a School Age Teacher to join our Kidstop Children Center, supporting children ages 5 to 13 years old through high-quality care and enriching educational experiences. The Kidstop Infant, Toddler, and Preschool programs are licensed and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Serving families in Ware and Palmer, Kidstop provides high-quality care and education with small teacher-to-child ratios, structured curriculum, and a supportive environment for children's growth and development. Plan and implement engaging lesson plans and activities that promote social, physical, and intellectual development Follow EEC-approved curriculum and daily schedules set by the Center Director Ensure a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment in compliance with licensing standards Support children's daily routines including structured activities, free play, meals, and transitions Communicate effectively with parents, families, and staff regarding children's progress and needs Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and staff Follow all EEC policies and procedures including safety, behavior management, and special needs support Complete required documentation such as incident and mandated reports Participate in professional development and maintain required EEC training hours Attend staff meetings, trainings, and center events Collaborate with team members to support classroom goals and address challenges Who You Are High School Diploma or GED required Must meet EEC qualifications for School Age Group Leader 1+ year of childcare or classroom experience preferred CPR, First Aid, and Food Safety certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months) Flexible and adaptable to classroom needs and varying age groups Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to manage a dynamic, busy, and sometimes noisy environment Commitment to cultural competence, inclusivity, and teamwork Ability to adapt teaching style and curriculum to meet individual child needs Hourly- $22.50 We Hire for Purpose Since 1938, BHN has been dedicated to delivering high-quality, affordable, and culturally responsive behavioral health and educational services across Western Massachusetts.
