Job Description
Join Our Dedicated Team as a Child Development Substitute at the Bangor Region YMCA! Are you a creative, energetic individual who's passionate about shaping the lives of young learners? As a Substitute Staff Member at the Bangor Region YMCA, you'll be a key part of a fun, values-driven program that impacts children from 12 months to 12 years old. You'll inspire creativity, foster growth, and ignite a love for learning, all while supporting our mission to help kids succeed. Bring your positive energy, strong communication skills, and enthusiasm to a program that's rooted in the YMCA's core values: honesty, respect, caring, and responsibility! ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assists in supervision of children and activities while encouraging intellectual, physical and social/emotional growth for every child in a positive and empowering way. Cleans classroom & materials Prepares learning center and assists with meals, as well as setup and clean up throughout the day. Is an organized multi-tasker with the ability to work with children and families from all walks of life in a way that reflects YMCA values.QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet qualifications established by State of Maine DHHS Licensing regulations, including successful completion of fingerprinting and background checks Must work well with other teachers and team members. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire. Previous experience working with children in a developmentally appropriate educational setting preferred. Must be available a minimum of 20 hours per month. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from diverse backgrounds. Punctual and dependable and have an impeccable work attendance record. Ability to remain calm and think critically during stressful situations.Job Type:
