Preschool Afternoon aide Capac, MI 48014 $13.73 - $14.50 an hour - Full-time $13.73 - $14.50 an hour - Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Preschool Afternoon Aide to join our early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will support classroom activities and ensure a safe, nurturing environment for young children during the afternoon hours. Your enthusiasm and caring nature will help foster positive development, encourage social interaction, and promote a love of learning among preschoolers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with children, assist lead teachers, and contribute to the growth and well-being of our young learners. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in implementing daily classroom routines and educational activities tailored to preschool-aged children. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring safety and positive behavior management. Support children with their personal care needs, including diapering, toileting, and handwashing. Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and creativity. Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages learning and exploration. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to support each child's individual needs. Follow all safety protocols and emergency procedures, including first aid when necessary. Experience Prior experience working with young children in a preschool, daycare, or childcare setting is preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in early childhood education. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus. Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable; willingness to obtain these certifications if not already held. Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies. Previous experience in toddler care, babysitting, nannying, or caregiving roles demonstrates valuable skills for this position. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team dedicated to fostering a safe and engaging learning environment for all children.
