Job Description
Toddler Lead Teacher Position Summary:
Weymouth is seeking a passionate and experienced Toddler Lead Teacher to create and lead a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for children ages 1-3 . The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a curriculum that promotes children's cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development, while maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom culture that supports individual growth and learning.Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum & Instruction:
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with early learning standards and the center's educational philosophy (e.g., play-based, Reggio Emilia, Montessori, etc.), tailored for toddlers.Classroom Leadership:
Establish and maintain a structured, supportive classroom where toddlers feel safe, respected, and encouraged to explore and learn.Child Development:
Observe and assess children's development, documenting progress and using assessments to inform instruction and individualized support.Family Communication:
Build strong relationships with families through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and updates about children's progress and classroom activities.Collaboration:
Supervise and mentor Assistant Teachers and float staff; model best practices in toddler care and education.Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all licensing, health, and safety standards are met consistently within the classroom.Professionalism:
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development to stay current on early childhood best practices.Requirements:
CDA (Child Development Associates), Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field required (Bachelor's preferred). State-required Lead Teacher qualification or credential. Minimum of 2 years' experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare or educational setting. Strong knowledge of child development principles and early learning frameworks specific to toddlers. Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Must meet all state and local licensing requirements, including background checks, immunizations, and health screenings.To Apply:
