This role plays a key part in ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and organization of our center during closing hours. The ideal candidate is nurturing, detail-oriented, and confident in managing a group of children during quieter evening hours.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and engage with children in a calm, structured manner during late hours Assist with evening routines such as story time, quiet play, and preparing children for pickup Ensure all areas are clean, sanitized, and organized before the end of the shift Complete all necessary closing documentation, including attendance logs and parent communication notes Secure all doors, set alarms, and follow proper lock-up procedures for the facility

Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum 1 year of experience working in a licensed childcare setting or aftercare program Comfortable managing small groups of children during slower-paced evening hours Experience with cleaning and sanitizing toys, surfaces, and common areas in accordance with health regulations Ability to follow closing checklists and maintain detailed records of incidents or concerns Strong time-management skills and ability to work independently with limited supervision Positive, professional attitude with strong communication skills when interacting with children and families Flexible and calm under pressure — able to handle last-minute parent pickups or unexpected changes in routine CPR and First Aid certification is recommended (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Must pass all required background checks and meet state licensing requirements for childcare staff We are looking for someone who is committed to excellence , values a clean and safe environment, and brings a warm, dependable presence to our closing team
