Co-Lead Preschool Teacher Catholic Diocese of Grand Rapids Schools Grand Rapids, MI Job Details Full-time 5 hours ago Benefits Paid training Health insurance Dental insurance Retirement plan Qualifications School experience Teaching experience with young children Collaborative teaching Parent-teacher conferences (communication methods) Full Job Description St. Paul the Apostle Early Childhood Center is hiring a full-time co-lead teacher for the preschool classroom to join our staff beginning summer 2025. This role involves collaborating with the lead preschool teacher to create a nurturing learning environment for children 3-4 years in age. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic educator who is kind, creative, and has a desire to bring the Catholic faith to children through their everyday experiences.

Schedule School Year Shift Monday Friday 9:00am-5:00pmSummer Shift Monday-Thursday 7:30am-5:30pm
General Responsibilities:
The duties of the co-lead preschool teacher include but are not limited to: Works closely with the co-lead teacher, assistants, and support staff to ensure consistency in classroom management and lesson execution. Is responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate experiences that advance intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development, incorporating Christ-centered teachings and values. Observe and assess childrens progress, document learning milestones, and tailor instruction to meet individual needs. Build strong relationships with families through regular communication, report cards, and parent-teacher conferences. Implements positive reinforcement strategies to support childrens emotional regulation and social skills while promoting Catholic values. Is responsible for leading the preschool after care program, planning and implementing age-appropriate experiences for children 3-5 years of age.

CPR and First Aid Certified or willingness to be trained (employer will pay for training.) Previous experience working in a preschool or early childhood setting. Commitment to fostering the faith of children. Strong understanding of child development principles. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a co-teaching model. Commitment to lifelong learning as demonstrated by attendance at seminars, in-services, and training. The candidate should be Catholic and uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church. Must have or willing to take Virtus Protecting Gods Children Training.
