SCHEDULE

POSITION SUMMARY
Assist in activities in preschool classroom and preschool center. Work with typically developing children, children with disabilities, and interact with various preschool staff. Cover breaks for Lead Teachers and Associate Teachers.

Understands the impact of toxic stress and trauma on children. Understands and can implement and build on the trauma-informed framework of our classrooms. Supports oral communication with children and adults. Supports social skills, such as sharing with and helping others. Supports age appropriate developmental skills. Cover breaks for preschool staff. Engage in activities with preschool children in the classroom and on the playground. Interact with preschool staff including, but not limited to, Lead Teachers, Associate Teachers and Food Service Workers. Cover vacancies of preschool staff to ensure required licensing ratios are maintained, traveling to centers as necessary. Cleaning duties as assigned. Attend professional development opportunities as required.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 1-year of experience working with preschool age children. OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and/or
ABILITIES

REQUIRED
Strong verbal communication skills. Ability to remain confidential when exposed to sensitive information. Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team and demonstrate flexibility A minimum of 1-year of experience.
PREFERRED
Knowledge of school districts and community. Experience working with Head Start/Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) families. CPR certified.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and is a standard acceptable level for this environment. Is directly responsible for student safety, work output and well-being.
