About the Role The Lead Infant Teacher plays a critical leadership role within the classroom by creating a safe, nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants while helping guide classroom culture, organization, and quality standards. This position requires someone who can lead with patience, professionalism, emotional regulation, strong communication, and consistency. Key Responsibilities Create and maintain a warm, responsive, and emotionally safe classroom environment Build strong relationships with children, families, and fellow team members Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities and experiences Support infant development through intentional play, language-rich interactions, music, sensory exploration, movement, and responsive caregiving Maintain accurate daily communication with families regarding feeding, diapering, naps, milestones, and developmental progress Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and classroom standards Maintain active supervision and appropriate teacher-to-child ratios at all times Complete developmental observations, assessments, and parent conferences as assigned Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards throughout the day Support and collaborate with assistant teachers to maintain a positive and effective classroom environment Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, flexibility, and strong communication skills Remain calm, solution-oriented, and emotionally regulated in high-stress situations Participate in ongoing professional development and required trainings What We're Looking For We are seeking educators who: Genuinely enjoy working with infants and young children Understand child development and developmentally appropriate practice Are nurturing, patient, engaging, and emotionally responsive Can effectively lead a classroom while supporting fellow team members Are dependable, punctual, and maintain strong attendance Take initiative and maintain high classroom standards without constant supervision Are open to coaching, feedback, and continued professional growth Value teamwork, communication, professionalism, and accountability Can balance warmth and structure within the classroom environment Physical Requirements This position requires frequent movement and active engagement throughout the day, including: Lifting and carrying children Sitting on the floor and transitioning up and down frequently Bending, squatting, kneeling, and standing for extended periods Cleaning and sanitizing classroom materials and surfaces Assisting with meals, bottles, diapering, and classroom routines Maintaining an active and engaging presence throughout the classroom Education & Qualifications Candidates must: Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare or early learning setting Possess one of the following: Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field Minimum of 12 semester hours in early childhood or related coursework Have coursework in infant/toddler development preferred Hold or be willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogen certification Successfully complete all required state background checks through the State of Michigan and the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) Why Little Dreamers?
