Job Description

Teachers First is seeking a GSRP Teacher for The Gaming and Technology Academy of Saginaw! The Gaming and Technology Academy of Saginaw (GATA) is opening in Fall 2026 and is seeking innovative, passionate educators who want to help build something different from the ground up. GATA is designed to be a highly engaging school where academics, technology, creativity, competition, and real-world learning come together through gamified systems, hands-on experiences, and strong relationships to prepare students for the future. Positions are being filled on a rolling basis. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply early.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Valid State of Michigan Teacher Certification with a ZS or ZA endorsement 2. Bachelor's degree in early childhood education with specialization in pre-k teaching. 3. Minimum of three - five (3-5) years of successful work experience working with young children in a group .4. Meet all requirements established by the Michigan Department of Human and Health Services (DHHS), as applicable.
NATURE OF THE POSITION
This position is responsible for the instructional program for the subject matter assigned. The Lead Teacher must provide students of the Academy's preschool program with instructional tools to develop skills required to successfully meet the State of Michigan education requirements. Scope of all authority includes all issues or concerns regarding educating children.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION
Plan and conduct daily activities according to the interests and abilities of the children in assigned groups. Plan and conduct structured and unstructured activities in a variety of curricular areas, offering several choices each day. Stimulate interest and creative abilities of the children to promote intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development. Post weekly lesson plans. Maintain an orderly physical environment conductive to optimal growth and development of children. Observe and record significant individual and group behavior. Communicate with parents with respect to their child's development and behavior. Inform the Director of pre-k programs of any pertinent information related to parents and children. Understand and maintain goals and objectives of the Academy's preschool program. Assemble an bring snacks and lunch from kitchen to assigned classroom, supervise children at meal and snack times. Responsible for clean up after meal and snack times. Conduct home visits as required. Attend staff meetings and all professional development. Perform other duties as assigned.
