Job Overview Here at Small Wonders we are seeking a passionate and dedicated Child Care Assistant Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. We are open Monday-Friday 7am-5:30 pm. FULL-TIME and
PART-TIME
available In this role, you will support the development and well-being of young children by assisting lead teachers in creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster a love of learning, promote social-emotional growth, and ensure each child's individual needs are met. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives while gaining valuable classroom experience. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum focused on early childhood education, literacy, math, and social skills development Support classroom management by maintaining a positive and inclusive environment that encourages children's participation and cooperation Engage with children through play, storytelling, arts and crafts, and educational activities to promote cognitive and emotional growth Help monitor children's behavior using effective behavior management techniques and provide mentoring to foster good social habits Collaborate with team members to assess each child's progress, including working with children with disabilities or autism to ensure inclusive support Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment in compliance with health and safety standards Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's daily activities, progress, and any concerns Experience Prior classroom experience working with young children in early childhood education settings or childcare centers is preferred, but not required Knowledge of childhood development principles and Michigan State licensing rules is preferred Familiarity with classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques Strong communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and engaging with children and families effectively Demonstrated ability to work well under supervision while also taking initiative to support children's needs Join us to inspire young minds through energetic teaching, compassionate mentoring, and dedicated childcare.
