Job Description

Lead Preschool Teacher Northland Family Center Preschool Remer, Minnesota Make a Difference in the Lives of Children and Families Northland Family Center Preschool is seeking a caring, energetic, and experienced Lead Preschool Teacher to lead our preschool classroom for the 2026-2027 school year. Our preschool serves children and families in the Northland Community School District and surrounding rural communities. We believe children learn best through positive relationships, play-based exploration, and meaningful family partnerships. We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping young children build confidence, independence, social-emotional skills, and kindergarten readiness. Position Summary The Lead Preschool Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a high-quality preschool program, creating a safe and engaging learning environment, partnering with families, and supporting the overall success of the preschool program. Key Responsibilities Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences Create a positive and engaging classroom environment Support children's academic, social-emotional, and physical development Utilize Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies GOLD, and other approved assessment tools Build strong relationships with children and families Conduct family conferences and maintain regular communication with parents Collaborate with Northland Community Schools, Early Childhood Special Education staff, and community partners Maintain compliance with Minnesota licensing requirements Provide day-to-day direction and support to classroom assistants, aides, and volunteers Participate in family events, enrollment activities, and professional development opportunities Qualifications Applicants must meet Minnesota Rule 3 Teacher qualifications.
Preferred qualifications include:
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field Experience working with preschool-aged children Experience using Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain) Valid Minnesota Driver's License Ability to successfully complete a Minnesota DHS background study Schedule School-year position Preschool operates Monday through Thursday Additional paid days for classroom preparation, training, family engagement, assessments, and program planning Compensation & Benefits Starting at $30.00 per hour (DOE) Paid holidays and paid time off Retirement benefits available Professional development opportunities Supportive team environment Preferred Experience Experience working with rural communities, Native American families, and children with diverse developmental needs is welcomed and valued.
