This leadership position is ideal for an experienced early childhood professional who believes in supporting the whole child, partnering with families, and creating a safe, inclusive environment where every child can thrive. Position Summary The Assistant Director works closely with the Director to oversee daily operations, ensure licensing compliance, support staff development, maintain high-quality programming, and promote a positive, trauma-informed culture throughout the center. This role combines leadership, coaching, family engagement, and direct classroom support. What Makes Green Lily Different? Responsibilities, Leadership & Operations Assist with daily center operations and staffing needs Serve as acting Director when needed Support enrollment, tours, and family onboarding Maintain licensing compliance and documentation Help develop and implement center policies and procedures Monitor classroom quality and staff performance Staff Development Coach, mentor, and support teaching staff Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback Assist with onboarding and training new employees Support professional development and certification requirements Promote a positive and accountable workplace culture Behavioral & Family Support Assist staff in implementing behavior support strategies Support children with social-emotional and behavioral challenges Collaborate with families regarding child progress and concerns Help develop individualized behavior support plans Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all communications Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations Maintain child and staff records Support incident reporting and documentation Promote safe and healthy classroom environments Serve as a mandated reporter and uphold child protection policies Qualifications Required Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in childcare, education, behavioral health, or related settings Experience working with children with challenging behaviors, developmental differences, or social-emotional needs Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to coach and lead a team professionally Preferred Director qualification under state licensing regulations Experience with trauma-informed care Experience with behavior intervention strategies Knowledge of licensing regulations and compliance CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Compensation & Benefits Pay:
