Job Description

The Churches of St. Michael & St. Mary in Stillwater, MN are seeking a Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Pre K-6 Lead Catechist to join our faith formation team. We are seeking a full-time employee willing to work 35 hours per week from August 15 to May 15, some evenings and weekends may be required.
Responsibilities include the following:
Faith Formation Maintain all atria environment for Level I, II, and III. Assist as needed in recruit, train and mentor volunteer catechists and assistants in Prek-6 program. Request a list of items needed to purchase for atria. Be available to teach Level I, II or III CGS September - May. Coordinate with staff to help with catechist appreciation events, and any fundraising activities. Assist with sacramental preparation for retreats. Make notes of missing, broken or incorrect materials in the atrium and repair the materials as needed. Sacramental Preparation In coordination with supervisor, assist with the reconciliation and eucharist retreats, parent education sessions, and first communion masses. General Be available to parents, catechists, and the children on a one-to-one basis. At no time should the person in this position serve as a personal counselor to any parent, teacher, or child. Maintain records of participants in CGS. Attend and participate actively in staff meetings. Attend educational and diocesan workshops and conferences as needed. Ensure all volunteers are E3. Check mailboxes, voicemail, and e-mail regularly. Respond to any phone calls and e-mails from parents within 24 hours unless directed otherwise by supervisor. Work with the CGS Manager and other St. Michael's staff in reserving and preparing the facilities for FF events. Attend weekly meetings.
