Position Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the teacher in creating a positive learning environment and providing high-quality instruction and care to our preschoolers. Childcare is subject to availability) As a Preschool Assistant you will… Create a safe and nurturing learning environment Guide children in the development of language, motor, and social skills Execute age-appropriate, hands-on activities for 2-5 year old children Enforce policies and procedures set by the school Participate in professional development and other school-related activities Communicate daily with parents at drop off and pick up Foster an atmosphere of respect and positive reinforcement We are looking for someone with the following qualifications… Has a passion for working with young children Ideal candidates will have experience working with young children from diverse backgrounds Has documentation of U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the U.S. Has the physical abilities to perform the required job duties with or without accommodation Able to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students, staff and caregivers Must successfully meet our pre-employment background screening requirements Preferred Qualifications Experience with the Pyramid Model and Classroom Engagement Model (preferred) Post-secondary education in child development, early childhood, or equivalent (preferred) At least one year successful experience working with preschool aged children in a childcare or education setting (preferred)
