Job Description

About the Role Hope Academy is seeking a nurturing, energetic Preschool Teacher to lead a classroom of children ages 2-5. This role is ideal for someone who loves creating joyful, engaging learning experiences and is passionate about helping young children grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Our teachers partner closely with families and colleagues to create a positive, supportive environment where every child can thrive. Schedule Monday-Friday Typically school-day hours + Opportunities for additional hours, including extended care Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary teacher for a classroom of preschool-aged children Create a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, engaging activities Support each child's emotional, social, physical, and intellectual development Build positive, cooperative relationships with students, families, and staff Serve as a positive role model for children Monitor and document student growth and development Communicate effectively with families, including scheduling conferences as needed Collaborate with team members and participate in staff meetings Stay current with best practices in early childhood education through ongoing training Follow all Hope Academy policies and Mississippi Child Care Licensing Standards Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of School Qualifications Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field Experience working with young children CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Meets all MS Department of Health/Child Care Licensing requirements (including background check and fingerprinting) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds Reliable transportation and valid driver's license Availability for extended care hours as needed Benefits Paid Time Off Tuition discount for children at both Hope Academy campuses If you love working with young children and want to be part of a joyful, purpose-driven school community, we would love to hear from you!
