Job Description

Our Children's House is a 5-star accredited nonprofit daycare that provides a multi-age, learning experience for children ages 1-5. We are currently seeking a Full Time Lead Teacher to join our team. OCH provides a home-like atmosphere in which children and adults can identify as extended family. Multi-age grouping allows students to learn and play with each other. Toddlers learn skills from being with older preschoolers while the older children learn to lead as role models. With a lower child to teacher ratio, we are able to provide special attention and ensure the healthy development of our children. Additionally, Our Children's House is unique because it is a parent-led cooperative which fosters a strong communal relationship. Our center is proud to have an impressive history of teacher and staff longevity.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a small group of children. Develops lesson plans to address these developmental domains: Emotional and social development Health and physical development Approaches to play and learning Language development and communication Cognitive development Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence. Observes all rules and regulations at Our Children's House and the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children. Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior. Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds. Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Our Children's House Employee Handbook Desired skills and experience: Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib. Infant -

2 or 4 year degree in early childhood or related field preferred
